Why can’t I search within the files in the “resources” area of a ctools site? 90% of professors use Ctools only to upload course materials, so this seems like a crucial feature.

I can probably guess at the answer to the second question…. its because the CTools team doesn’t want to have to write a parser for every document format that gets uploaded to CTools. If it was just text it would be OK, but with .doc and .pdf thrown in there, things get hairy. Maybe they could use a Google Search Appliance.
